1. Hugs

When I was a baby, though I don’t remember,
mom and pop gave me my very first hug.
They said I was whiny, crabby and crying
but when I got a hug, I cheered right up.

So I say

I love getting hugs more than anyone,
I can’t get enough hugs from you.
and I love giving hugs more than anyone,
here comes another ’cause I love you.

A monster chased me in my dreams,
he was getting’ real close, he was lookin’ real mean.

He grabbed my leg, I woke up.
Mom and pop came and I spoke up.

I just said

Chorus

Hugs, hugs, nothin’ like a hug
To make me feel alright.
I could never get enough,

I need them day and night.

I had a pet, Fred the dog,
he slipped and he tripped and he hurt his paw.
I carried him home ’cause he couldn’t walk
but I didn’t know that Fred could talk

Till he said

Chorus

2. Walk Like a Dinosaur

I’m gonna walk like a dinosaur
all across the kitchen floor,
Goin’ back and goin’ forth
and then I’ll walk some more like a dinosaur.

I’m gonna walk to the kitchen sink
’cause dinosaur needs a drink
and then it’s time, I really think
to walk some more like a dinosaur.

Time to go to bed for the dinosaur
so he rests his head and he starts to snore.

Birds are calling it’s time to wake up
so he makes some coffee and he has a cup.

And he walks some more like a dinosaur.

What am I gonna do today?

Maybe go outside and play?
But mama says it’s gonna rain
so I’ll stay at home and play my slide trombone.

And then I’ll walk some more like a dinosaur.

Dogs and cats, friends and family,
everyone needs to be cheered up
but you don’t have to tell them anything,
just give them a great big hug

And they’ll say

Chorus

3. Bow Wow Baby

Fred the dog lived down the street,
he was the best dog I ever did meet.
I’d tell him all my troubles, we’d go for a walk,
he’d bark out a laugh and start to talk.

“Bow wow baby bow wow,
it really doesn’t matter anyhow.
You can be happy, I can show you how.
All you gotta do is go baby bow wow
Baby bow wow baby bow wow baby bow wow.”

I said to Fred, “I’d feel kinda crazy,
talkin’ to a dog, singin’ ‘bow wow baby’”,
but I gave it a try and after a while

I forgot my troubles, I began to smile.

I just went
Bow wow baby bow wow,
It really doesn’t matter anyhow.
You can be happy I can show you how.
All you gotta do is go baby bow wow
Baby bow wow baby bow wow baby bow wow.

Now you may think it’s kinda dumb

to listen to a hound.
And you might laugh and you’ll make fun
when I make the bow wow sound.
But if you go “Bow Wow Baby”,
You’ll get so silly, you’ll get so crazy
So keep on singin’ bow wow baby, baby bow wow.

When I knew Fred he was just a pup,
time went by and he grew up.

Course I grew just like he did
and pretty soon I wasn’t a kid.

I fell in love, married a wife,
Fred had pups and led a dog’s life.
And when I’m sad I write him a letter,
he calls me up I start to feel better.

We just go
Bow wow baby bow wow,

it really doesn’t matter anyhow
You can be happy I can show you how.
All you gotta do is go baby bow wow
Baby bow wow baby bow wow baby bow wow

4. Alfred Alligator

Alfred alligator lived in the water
He was always wet but it really didn’t matter
‘Cause he had his mommy, had his dad
and that’s all you need to make an alligator glad.

Alligators eat nothin’ but fishes,
eat them off alligator dishes,
but Alfred, he wanted more
so he left the water for the grocery store.

Before he left he had to put on his shoes,
tied them tight so they wouldn’t come loose.
Hopped right in to his alligator car,
drove to Stop & Shop, it wasn’t very far.

Alfred Alligator felt so neat,
drivin’ that car, tappin’ his feet,
he was singin’ a song
with an alligator beat.

Alfred bought sauce, bought spaghetti,
took it home, cooked it till it’s ready.
Ate it up with mild and bread

then Alfred went to Alligator bed.

Alfred Alligator got his wishes,
eats spaghetti and thinks it’s delicious.
But there’s one thing wrong now he’s fat and big
and he looks just like an alligator pig.

Alfred alligator lived in the water,
he was always wet but it really didn’t matter
’cause he had his mommy, had his dad

and that’s all you need to make an alligator glad.

5. A-B-C

Everybody has a name,
some are different, some the same.
Some are long and some are short
but I bet my name is longer than yours

Starts with ‘A’, ends with ‘Z’,
with a whole lot of letters that are in between.

I can’t say it very well
and so my name I have to spell.

My name is ABCDEFG
HIJKLMNOP
QRSTU and V
W, XYZ,
But you can call me ABC.

At our school on the very first day,

went around the room, said our names.
There was Kevin and Elizabeth, Mark, Marie,
Tim, Tom, Terry, Emily

Jimmy, Judy, Jennifer, Sara, Sally, Sam,
Wanda, Juanita, Denny, Donny, Dan,
Kelly, Katie, Christopher, Larry, Louise
and following Felicia, finally me.

My name is ABC…

The name of my brother is like no other
Name that’s ever been:
It’s one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
Eight, nine, ten.

Gonna have a baby of my own,
gonna give her love, give him a home.
Gonna give her hugs, every day,

gonna give him my favorite name.

And that is ABC…

6. There’s Nobody Like You

There once was a kid who though he looked weird.
“My ears are too big”, he said to the mirror.
“Hey ‘elephant ears’”, the other kids yelled,
“Oh why can’t I look like somebody else”?

He filled up with tears, he began to cry.

He looked in the mirror and to his surprise,
He saw his reflection and it had a grin
and this is the next thing the mirror said to him:

“You really are OK,
Just look at yourself and say,
‘There’s nobody like you, not even close.
Nobody I see has such a nose
and such beautiful eyes ears and fingers and toes.

Nobody like you, not even close’”.

Another kid thought she was too small.
She said to herself, “I would rather be tall.
But not so tall as those basketball guys.
I just want to grow up and be the right size.”

Just the right size, what is that I wonder?
Is it four, five or six feet, what is the number?
I know the answer it’s not very hard,

Just the right size is the size that you are.

Chorus

Just take a minute and look around the room.
Nobody in it looks quite like you.
Nobody looks worse, nobody looks better.
We’re all pretty perfect so let’s sing together.

Chorus

7. The Two of Us

Oh the two of us, yeah, the two of us,
I just want to be the me and you of us.
Cause you like me and I like you
and we’re stuck together like we’re stuck with glue
and the two of us will do the stuff we like to do.

Oh the two of us, yeah, the two of us.
One is not enough, it’s too few of us.
If you were a driver I would be your car

And if you were the night I would be your star
’cause the two of us, the two of us is what we are.

We could be three, maybe four,
Five, six, seven, even more.
How about eighty? Or maybe a hundred?
But let me tell you of my favorite number.

That’s one and one, but what do they become?
Put ‘em both together, got a lot of fun.

If you were a sock, I would be your shoe
and if you were a lock, I’d be the key to you
and the two of us would do the stuff we like to do.

Oh the two of us, yeah, the two of us.
I just want to be the me and you of us.
If we were a clock, we could have our pick,
one could be the tock, the other the tick
and no matter what time it was, together we’d stick.

We could be one and be alone.
It’s sometimes fun on your own.
But in a while, I’d start to wonder,
Where, oh where’s my favorite number?

And that’ one and one
but not just anyone.
’cause we’re the ones who add up to a lot of fun.
If you were a pup, I would be your “bow wow”

and if you got a cut, I would be your “OW!”
and forever, together, we’d be like now.

8. I’m So Glad to be a Dad

I think you’re pretty neat:
Ears, eyes and knees and feet
and I love those tiny toes,
little nose so cute.

And I’m so glad to be a dad
to be a dad to you.

I love you quite a bit
you cuddly, crazy kid
and when you’re with me, I’m so busy
I get dizzy, too.

And I’m so glad to be a dad
to be a dad to you.

Winter weather, we’re together, snow up to our hips.

better weather we’re forever swimming like we’re fishes
In the autumn, leaves are fallin’, see if we can catch one.
In the spring the birdies sing and so we try to help them.

(tweet tweet)

Sometimes I go to work but later I return
We talk and talk, take a walk,
there’s a lot to do

And I’m so glad to be a dad
to be a dad to you.

I know what we could do,
we’ll go up to the zoo
and we can see chimpanzees, maybe zebras, too.
Or we could choose to view a moose
or a kangaroo.

See the monkeys swingiin’ free

makin’ monkey noises
We’ll pretend we’re monkey friends
and talk in monkey voices.

It’s colder where the polar bear
wears a winter jacket
We’ll growl and roar and roar some more
and make an awful racket.

I think you’re pretty neat,

ears, eyes and knees and feet
and I love those tiny toes,
little nose so cute.

And I’m so glad to be a dad
to be a dad to you.

9. I Love My Mom

I love my mom, I love my mom
I miss her so whenever she’s gone
‘Cause I love, I love my mom

School is fun but when I’m done
I think of home and there I run
and you know how come?
I love my mom.

She can be crabby,
she can be a grouch.
And when she’s mad at me

my feelings go “Ouch!”

And sometimes I do stuff that’s wrong
but she’s not mad for very long,
I like her a lot.
I love my mom.

I said to Fred, my pet, a pup,
“Say hey Fred, who do you love?”
He said, “I love, I love my mom”.

I checked with the chickens,
“Hey what’s up?”
they said to me, “Cluck, cluck, cluck”,
which means, “I love, I love my mom”.

She gets up early, lets me sleep.
She’s always worried about what I eat.
When I’m sick, she takes good care,
she’s like a great big teddy bear.

I like her a lot.
I love my mom.

10. The Rain Came Down

It was my birthday, I was six,
we went to the park we had a picnic.
My friends came along, my parents, too.
The birds sand a song and the sky was blue.

And then I saw up in the sky,

A fluffy, white cloud come floatin’ by.
I yelled, I scream, I shouted out loud,
“Get away from me you stupid old cloud!”

He was just a little cloud, he was passing by.
But when he heard me should out loud, he began to cry.

And the rain came, rain came, rain came down.
Rained so hard, there was water all around.
I shook my fist, I stamped the ground

but the rain came, rain came, rain came down.

The madder I got, the more he cried,
I yelled “I hope you’re satisfied!”
So we put away the picnic, got outa there.
I was thinking, “It’s not fair”.

I lost my temper, threw a fit,
stupid weather made me sick.
My parents said, “Now cut it out!

You’ll go to bed now if you pout!”

I was just a little boy, I was so upset.
And when my parents raised their voice, my eyes got all wet.

Chorus

I felt bad and then I knew the cloud must feel the same.
He was sad and he was blue because I called him names.

We stopped the car, we all got out,

I said, “I’m sorry” to the cloud.
“I was wrong to hurt you so.
Please come along wherever I go.”

Oh, he was just a little shy, he looked at me awhile.
But after I apologized, he began to smile.

And the sun cam, sun came, sun came out,
that cloud and me we danced about.
He picked me up gave me a ride.

We had a picnic in the sky.

That cloud and me are still good friends,
we see each other now and then.
We take a ride up in the sky,
we laugh and sing and even cry.

We talk about the day we met,
when we were not grownup’s yet.
It was May and we were kids,

it was my birthday, I was six.

Oh, he was just a little cloud, he was passing by
But when he heard me should out loud, he began to cry.

11. It’s OK to Cry

He was watchin’ a show about a boy and his dog,
the story was a pretty sad one.
You see, the boy loved his dog more than anything at all
then the worst thing of all happened.

The dog got sick.
The dog died.
The boy in the story cried.

And as he watched the show, he thought to himself,
“It’s just a story, that’s all”.
But he could not help the way that he felt
and tears began to fall.

His big brother laughed and said,
“Cry baby, cry baby, go to bed
’cause big boys don’t cry”.

To his room he ran,
soon there came his dad
took him by the hand and said,

“It’s OK to cry, OK to cry,
grandma’s do, grandpa’s, too,

mom and dad do, so should you.

And it’s OK to weep,
tears aren’t meant to keep,
so let them fall and fill your eyes
‘Cause it’s OK to cry.

As you get big, you will outgrow
your games, your toys, your favorite clothes
but if you live to be a hundred years

you’ll never outgrow your need for tears”.

Chorus

His brother came in and said to him,
“I’m sorry I laughed at you
but I was so upset about the boy and his pet
I thought I would cry, too

And I don’t know why I get so shy

’cause big boys cry.”

Chorus

12. Rock-a-bye Baby

Put baby in the cradle, climb up high,
baby’s gonna take a nap way up in the sky.
Baby in a cradle in the top of a tree,
now that’s a pretty funny place for baby to be.

The wind took a look, wonderin’ if baby sleepin ‘tight.

All the branches shook, rockin’ little baby up high.

Rock-a-bye baby in the tree top.
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks, cradle will fall
and down will come baby, cradle and all.

Momma’s gonna catch ya, Papa won’t let you fall.
Ever since they met ya, love baby most of all.

Take baby from the cradle, hug and a kiss,
rockin’ in a tree top was never like this.
When baby wakes more kisses and then
put baby in the cradle, do it all again.

Momma’s gonna catch ya, Papa won’t let you fall,
ever since they met ya, love baby most of all.

Rock-a-bye baby in the tree top.
Rock-a-bye baby someday will grow up.

Put baby in the cradle when the wind blows,
you’ll rock a bye a bay all of your own.

13. Papa’s Lullaby

Go to sleep, my baby dear,
when you wake your papa’s here,
countin’ the reasons I find you so pleasin’ to me.
Still unbelievin’ your mama and me now are three.

Hush my baby, don’t you cry,
Papa’s gonna sing you a lullaby.

While you are sleepin, your papa is keepin’ you near.
Rockin’ so gently the one who is so very dear.

Mama’s little baby, gettin’ sleepy,
Papa’s little baby, gettin’ sleepy
Gettin’ sleepy, time to go to sleep.

Baby, when I hold you close,
think I’ll never let you go.
It’s such a wonder that this little bundle is mine.

Papa’s in love with a one who is one of a kind.

Such a tiny thing you are,
got the whole world in my arms.
Tell you a secret but you go to keep it with you:
Bein’ your papa is everything I want to do.

Mama’s little baby, gettin’ sleepy,
Papa’s little baby, gettin’ sleepy
Gettin’ sleepy, time to go to sleep.

14. Goodnight Moon

Goodnight moon, I’ll see you soon,
but I’m beat and I could sleep till noon, moon,
Goodnight.

Without a sound, the sun went down
and in it’s place, your friendly face
so full and round, now,
goodnight moon, goodnight.

Dream of a river that runs to the sea.
Drifting so silently under the trees.
The river is wide, the water is deep.
Dream of a river that runs to the sea.

So soft, so deep, so safe, we sleep.
Until the dawn, the moon looks on so patiently.
Goodnight moon, good night moon,
Goodnight.

15. Baby Blue

Baby’s safe, baby’s fed,
Baby’s warm and dry.
Baby won’t lay down her head.
Baby needs to cry.

Little one so innocent,
never has there been a one like you.
Deep as any river runs

is the love your father has for you.

And if you cry all through the night
I’ll stay until the day.
And all the while, I’ll hold you child,
lovely, little baby blue.

Daddy rocks, daddy walks,
sings a lullaby.
To the walls, daddy talks,

Daddy wants to cry.

Weary as a winter night,
still your eyes look wide into my own.
When I try to say goodnight,
Cryin’ eyes are frightened all alone.

Come a time, arms of mine
won’t keep the world away.
Until that day, I’ll hold you safe,

lovely, little baby blue.

On the floor, Daddy rests,
holdin’ baby blue.
Baby sleepin’ on his chest.
Daddy sleepin’, too.
